Lu5
It is a water point. Name suggests tonify & nourish yin
It is a son point of the lung good for excess condition

Both excess and deficient heat of the lungs (e.g. exterior syndrome)

It is a he-sea point treats rebellious qi cough and asthma
A He-sea point is also good for rebellious qi downward diarrhea (especially good for summer-heat type, There is exterior-Interior relationship with the LI)

It is a one of the “bent” point to clear heat

Lu-7
It is a luo connecting point of the lungs with LI open lower orifice
Good for lower lung qi lung diseases (cough, asthma etc)

It is one of the 4 main points it is for neck 英語 and nape Exterior syndrome (evil hits the neck: Taiyang part of the body)

Na Da Yang’s 12 points good for side head aches

Combination point of K-6 for Lung system, diaphragm, chest, sore throat

Confluent of Ren, which pass through the lungs and throat cough, asthma, sore throat, bronchitis

Du-14
All yang channel of crossing points
Locationg on the upper back, disperse pathogenic wind, and clear heat point for pricking

Good for clear Wind-heat type common cold, Wind heat type cough

It is good for asthma too, especially because it is locted near Ding Chuang

Ren-17
The location is centre of the chest, upper sea of qi, where lung qi and heart qi is concentrated for chest problems (asthma, chest pain, oppression of the chest, palpitations, hicucup, difficulty in swallowing etc)

If you keep needle downward, it lowers qi and help kidney grasp qi asthma

2. Summarize all additional back shu points.

Du Shu(UB-16, governor shu)
Not clear indication of Du channel problems. Rather treats Cardiac pain, stomach ache

Ge Shu(UB-17, diaphragm shu)
Influential point of blood treats blood diseases (coughing up blood, nosebleed etc. blood stasis in the chest can manifest as chest pain, oppression of the chest)

Diaphragm shu harmonize the diaphragm and descend rebellious qi (Treats vomiting, hiccup, difficulty in swallowing, abdominal pain, asthma, cough etc)

Qihai shu (UB-24, Sea of qi shu)
Treats irregular menstruation, dysmenorrheal, asthma

Guan Yuan Shu (UB-26, gate of origin shu)
Treats pain in the lumber and legs, abdominal distention, diarrhea, enuresis, frequent urination

Zong lu shu (UB-29, Mid- spine shu)
Treats dysentery, hernia, stiffness and pain of the lumber spine

Bai huan shu (UB-30. Whitering shu)
Bai means white, huan means a ring made of jade or gold, reffereing to something valuable or important and the place where the sperm or vital energy is stored is called white ring. As name suggests, it treats profuse leukorrehea ans seminal emission.

Gao huang shu (UB-43 vital region shu)
The vital energy produced by the spleen is called gao, and the vital energy produced by the kidney is called huang. Gao and Huang meet together near the thoratic vertabra where the point is located. The point can be used to treat the disease due to chronic and prolonged deficiency of both the spleen and kidney. When TB was popular this point was used for TB (lung severe disease, lung yin deficiency)

3. Summarize the functions for ST25.
Front Mu of LI (open Large intestine Fu) Descend St Qi Stop pain
(This is mainly for food stagnation epigastric pain)

4. Compare indications for Lv2 and Lv3.

Liv-2 Yin spring point and clears heat, but also soothe and lower liver qi. Treats eye problems
Liv-3 being yuan primary point, it is a strong point for soothing and lowering qi. Being on the lowest part of the body, it can also treat fire (move qi downward)

1. Why PC6 treats hiccup?
It is a Luo connecting point of PC, and connects with the SJ channel. It goes through 3 jiaos therefore unblocks 3 jiaos unblocks Zang-Fu qi.

It is also a confluent point of Ying Wei channel. With combination with SP-4, it regulates Chong Meridian and can treat Running Piglet, lower qi and harmonize the stomach.

2. Why UB17 treats hiccup?
UB17 is “diaphragm shu” and it treats diaphragm problems. In western science, hiccup is a spasmatic movements of diaphragm, therefore UB17 treats hiccup.
Another point for hiccup would be UB-46. UB46 and UB17 make Qi-Jie around the diaphragm. (Also, Du-9 as “most upper yang point”, regulate yin and yang, which in this case is ascending and descending of qi hiccup

3. Why sp6 tonify yin?
Sp-6 is the main point for “Yin” and tonifys whole body’s yin. It is a crossing point of 3 yin channel of foot, which are Kidney ch, spleen ch, and Liver ch. Especially Kidney’s yin is the root of Whole body’s yin. Also, Sp6 is a Ben point of Sp channel according to Biao-Ben theory (Biao being Ren23), therefore can treat Sp channel (yin channel).

4. Difference between R4 and R6.

Ren-4
*Tonifying nature
*tonify Qi, Yang, and Ying, but Focuses on Qi and Yang
